Concession Go-Kart
Track Photos

The Family Road Track
operates single and double seat go-karts and has the widest appeal. This
photo shows the fun interaction of a group of go-karts that is lost when a track
is built too long and go-karts get spread out and isolated.

A Slick
Track is a more competitive adult track. Drivers must use skill and judgment to apply
brakes and throttle to negotiate this track successfully. It also serves
to get the more competitive guests off of the Family Track.

These raised concrete pit
islands give attendants protection from being hit by go-karts and reduces
employee injuries.

The control console
cabinet should be located
where the attendant operating it can see the entire track to activate the speed control transmitter quickly in the event of an accident.
The controls for the track signal lights, event timer, and PA system are
also located at this cabinet.

Go-karts should be
cleaned with a pressure washer before repairs and maintenance are performed on them.
This concrete wash down area outside the maintenance building works well where it
is screened from guests' view.

Indoor tracks with electric
powered go-karts are gaining in popularity. With a controlled environment
and lower maintenance costs, these tracks can be very profitable.

Elevated wood tracks have
been built in tourist areas around the USA. They are not very well suited
for a residential market with their high construction and operating costs. This track was a very bumpy ride.
