SUMMARY

Formal education includes one year of civil engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Surveying and Associate in Applied Science in Civil Technology, and continuing education in risk management and amusement ride inspections.

Experience includes design, development, and risk management services for leisure facilities featuring miniature golf, concession go-kart tracks, and other indoor and outdoor attractions.  Design and development experience includes plan development for leisure facilities, including outdoor attractions, building floor plans, common areas, parking lots, and maintenance areas. Associated experience includes contracting and coordinating professionals to perform site surveys, utilities, paving and drainage, architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and landscape design for project permits and bids.   Risk management experience includes amusement ride inspections, risk evaluation surveys, standard operating procedures, staff training, litigation management, and OSHA compliance.

Zellar Consulting, LLC, President

A consultancy to the Leisure Industry in matters of design, development, construction, risk management, operations, maintenance, and safety.  Specialties include concession go-kart tracks, bumper boat pools, and miniature golf attractions for Family Entertainment Centers and Amusement Parks. Capabilities include Standard Operating Procedure manual development and training, amusement ride inspections, risk evaluation surveys, design and development project management for new facilities and additions to existing amusement parks.

 

§         1986 thru 1998

Malibu Entertainment Worldwide, Inc. (formerly known as Mountasia Entertainment International)

Director of Risk Management, Vice President of Professional Services. Duties included direct responsibility for Family Entertainment Center designs of whole park layout and additions of attractions; project management of architects, engineers, and surveyors to produce coordinated drawings and specifications for permits and bids.  Family Entertainment Centers developed include Malibu SpeedZones and Mountasia Family Funcenters featuring various go-kart tracks, miniature golf, bumper boat pools, batting cages, and other outdoor attractions. Started Risk Management Department and instituted policies for incident reporting, workers compensation and general liability claims management, litigation management, OSHA compliance, and post incident drug testing for employees.

Alyeska Pipeline Service Company

Contract survey crew chief on the Trans Alaska Pipeline and Civil Engineering Technician for construction and repair field and office support for pipeline projects.

Mid Michigan Engineering Company

Civil Engineering Technician, survey crew instrument man, construction inspector, draftsman, and administrative assistant for this small civil engineering and surveying firm.
